Dario Franchitti won his third IRL championship.  Will Power finished second 5 points behind.  Now you know something that five other people in the world know.  Well maybe it is not that bad for the IRL but few people follow open wheel racing in the United States anymore.  With 17 races on the season other than the Indy 500 I had a hard time finding any of the races to watch.  For the most part the races are on Versus.  Having games on Versus has done wonders for Hockey.

Ever since the split of the IRL from CART open wheel racing in the United States has taken a hit.  Even the spectacle of the Indy 500 is not what it used to be.  How many people even knew that CART went out if business and was absorbed by it’s own spin off the IRL?
