Last week turned out to be an alright week for us again.  Three right and one wrong but boy the one that we got wrong was well WOW really wrong.

In the first game Texas kept the game much closer than I thought they would.  The result was the same just not as big a blow out as I expected.  Final score Oklahoma State 38 Texas 26.  Picks 1-0 for the week.

In the second match up Oregon was all over Arizona State the whole game.  Final score Oregon 41 Arizona State 27. Picks 2-0 for the week

The Third game was a match up of the Michigan rivals.  Michigan State was able to keep Denard Robinson contained and it showed in the way the game went.  Final score Michigan State 28 Michigan 14.  Picks 3-0 for the week.

In the Fourth game  I think that Baylor forgot that they were playing a football game and decided that it was a bye week.  Final score Texas A&M 55 Baylor 28.  Picks for the week 3-1

Even with the beating we took int he Texas A&M/Baylor game it was still an alright week.  With the 3-1 record last week that takes our record for the year to a very decent 16-4.

Hard to believe that it is already week 8 of the 2011 College football season.  Time flies when the picks are going your way.  Of course as I say that the ball will bounce the other way and the record will take a dive.  This week we have 3 match ups of ranked teams.  Two clashes that could well set the course for the BCS and one that will more than likely be a blow out.

In the first game we have (20) Auburn at (1) LSU – Even with the suspensions that LSU has dished out to some not too smart players I don’t see how Auburn is going to be able to hang with LSU this year.  LSU is too deep and Aburn is not the team that they were last year.  I do think that this is going to be a close game.  It will be interesting to see how the LSU Defense stands up with the suspension of their best player.  Final Score LSU 31 Auburn 21

In the Second game (6) Wisconsin at (16) Michigan  – This game could be a preview of the first Big 10 Championship game.  Both teams are coming in with a lot of confidence.  Michigan State had only had one bad performance and has shown a  lot of growth since then.  Wisconsin has only played one game away from home this year and that was just a few miles away from Madison in Illinois.  This will be the first big road test for Wisconsin.  This game will be a knock down drag out brawl.  In the end Wisconsin will pull this one out with their punishing ground game.  Final score Wisconsin 24 Michigan State 17

In the Third and final game of the week we have (25) Washington at (8) Stanford – I just don’t see how Washington is going to be able to contain the Stanford Offense in this game.  Last week Stanford had a slow start leading 10 – 7 at half time.  This week they will come out strong and be in complete control of this game.  Final score Stanford 42 Washington 17
