Colin Kaepernick Workout Colin Kaepernick Workout – Will it Lead to a Contract?  In something that has been three years in the making is going to happen November 16th in Atlanta.  The NFL has set up a Colin Kaepernick workout in Atlanta.  All 32 teams have been invited to the workout.  There are at least eleven teams that have expressed interest in attending the Colin Kaepernick Workout.

All Teams Should Attend the Colin Kaepernick Workout

Really all the teams should attend.  It is pretty clear that Kaepernick was kept out of the NFL for reasons other than the talent he possesses to be a quarterback.  We know it was for the kneeling but we are not sure which aspect.  I am pretty sure it was more for talking attention away not for what he was protesting.    The work out will be run by former Browns coach Hue Jackson.  Not exactly sure why that is important.

Colin Kaepernick has not played since the 2016 season.   After that season he opted out of the contract he had.  Colin Kaepernick has had some workouts with a few teams but no team has made an offer to him.  In the previous years he indicated that he did not want to sign with a team unless he was going to be the starter.

Willing to take a Backup Roll

Pretty sure he has finally let that slide and just want to be signed by a teams.  That is a better strategy to take.  At 32 Colin Kaepernick could still have the physical skills to be a quarterback in the NFL.  Teams carry at least two quarterbacks that makes 64 players.  I am pretty sure that most people would still think that there are not 32 people out there that are better than Colin Kaepernick.

The Colin Kaepernick Workout comes at an interesting time.  It is past the half way of the NFL season.  It is unlikely that even if a team signs him that he would be on the active roster any time soon.  After being out of the league for a few years it is going to take him some time to get back in to game shape.  It would be highly unlikely that he ends up taking a snap this season.  Unless the team that signs him as some things go horribly wrong between now and the end of the season.

Arguably Better than Every Backup in the NFL

I am not sure that there are actually 32 players out there any given year that are actually starting quarterbacks in the NFL.  Colin Kaepernick did it for several year at an extremely high level.  In that time he was for a lot of it better than average.   If he was playing the Packers then he looked like he should  have been the league MVP..  Pretty sure that every team is looking for a better position in their quarterback ranks.  Not at starter but could always use help.  It can’t hurt to send someone to the work out.  The NFL is said they are going to make a tape of the workout available to all 32 teams.  Not quite the same as having someone live at the workout but worth taking a look.

I really thought that Colin Kaepernick was going to get signed by a team that first season after he opted out of his contract.  i was wrong and the NFL purposely kept him out of the league.  That is going to change this year and I am confident that Colin Kaepernick will find a team this year.
