In Michigan this past week, there has been a wailing that is truly unbecoming of a very good team. Coach Dantonio of MSU has cited his choice of statistics to show that his team should be the rightful RoseBowl representative of the B10. Sorry, Sir, but it comes off as sour grapes and does a disservice that you certainly do not intend. I’m not sure where you got your statistics, but all you have to do is go to the Sagarin computer rankings where both Wisconsin and Ohio State rate above MSU. That does not denigrate your team. Sure MSU beat WI head-to-head, but the Badgers beat a very good Iowa team which in turn gave MSU a very sound trouncing. Why bring it up? It is sad that the BCS can’t accomodate all three outstanding teams from the B10. As you point out it will all become moot next year when Nebraska makes the B10 twelve members and they have a championship game. However, if that had been the case this year it would have been WI and OSU that played. That just the way it is. Fortunatly the B10 mandates that all payouts from the bowl games be shared equally among conference members, so the school loses nothing but some pride.
