The Heat is on, well the heat played today but they were not on.  Since they lost their first game there is no worry that they will be the first team in the NBA to ever go undefeated.  Like that was ever a possibility.  Some people were so hyped up about this team that they did think that it was possible.  Contrary to popular belief this is not the first team to have 3 huge stars on it.  The Celtics have had teams with 3 all stars on them before and so have the Lakers the Bulls have also been there.  Of course all those teams won championships.  More than likely so will this one.

I am not a huge fan of the NBA I think that College Basketball is much more interesting.  I am not a fan of all the hype that surrounds many of the top stars of Basketball.  From my point of view Basketball has gotten off course and is following the WWF(E) much more closely then the NBA of old.  Ahh but I digress.  The King and his court lost.  They started slow and then came on strong but not strong enough to make up for the slow start.  LeBron James led the Heat with 31 points which led all players in this game.  The court (Wade and Bosh) had 21 points combined.  I understand that there is much more than just scoring points.  There are Steals and blocks and assists and Rap music to dance to…

The Celtics made a point with this game that they are not ready to just step back and let the Heat take over.  The Celtics added a few (old) but significant pieces to their team this year as well.  They will still be a team to be reckoned with this year in the East.

As happy as I am that the Heat lost, it is a long season and the Heat will get it together and will win a lot of games.  I just don’t think that they should be handed the championship this year.  There are still a few old dogs out there that would love to play the part of the spoiler and make the King look like the Court Jester this year.
